Anticosti, Nature and Landscapes Fixed in Time
The south western point of Anticosti with its abandoned lighthouse and its cemetery, is one of the most picturesque sites on Anticosti, where a mysterious atmosphere surrounds an exceptional display of wildlife activity. It is an enchanting place that gives the impression that nature and landscapes are fixed in time. At first glance, it would appear that the dilapidated lighthouse, which was build in 1831, is haunted, possibly by one of the Pope family members. For several generations, they served as guards totaling over 70 years. Do you think maybe it could be the spirit of one of the many sailors who shipwrecked in the Saint-Lawrence estuary?
